Hallow

How do I access SJN's parish page on Hallow?

Everyone is invited to be a part of our parish community page. There, you can create a profile, add friends, share/respond to prayer intentions, and take part in prayer challenges with the parish. The steps are simple:

  1. Download or open the Hallow app on your phone

  2. Join the parish page. Tap “Community” on the menu at the bottom of your screen > Select “Join a Church” > Search for our parish by typing "17601." Hallow has corrected our parish name from "Saint" to "St." when searching by name. However, it is best to search by zip code (17601).

  3. Start praying with us!

Faith Formation

A Christian Who Cares: A Weekend of Witness and an Invitation for Our Families by Erin Houser

This past weekend, our parish was blessed to hear a powerful testimony from Nathan Crankfield, an executive with the Hallow app, who shared at all the Masses about the profound impact Fr. Dan had on his life. Nathan described Fr. Dan as a “Christian who cares.”  That genuine care, lived out in relationship and faithfulness, helped shape the course of Nathan’s life in a lasting way.

Fr. Dan had the privilege of confirming Nathan into the Catholic Church, and Nathan shared how becoming Catholic and entering into a life of prayer truly changed the trajectory of his life. His story was a moving reminder that accompaniment matters, and that when we walk with one another in faith, God can do extraordinary things.

If you heard Nathan speak at our Family Faith Formation meeting, you’ll recognize that same heart behind an exciting opportunity now beginning in our parish. As shared on our parish page yesterday, we are launching a new premium Hallow Challenge: Family Rule of Life.

This 7-day challenge invites families to reimagine their homes as places more deeply rooted in faith. Through short, 15-minute daily sessions, your family will build a personalized Rule of Life, simple, practical rhythms designed to anchor your household in prayer and purpose. Together, you’ll explore themes like prayer, rest, discipline, and culture, discovering concrete ways to cultivate greater peace, joy, and meaning in everyday family life. Hallow is a gift to our parishioners and community members, providing a resource to support prayer, reflection, and spiritual growth without cost. Please see the Hallow section of this blog to learn how to begin your free Hallow account and join our parish page on the app.

As we approach the start of Lent on February 18, this is a particularly fitting moment to pause and reflect. What practices are truly serving our families right now? What is drawing us closer to the Lord, and where might God be gently inviting us to something new?

May Nathan’s testimony and this new challenge encourage us to take the next faithful step, trusting that even small, intentional changes can open the door for God to transform our homes and our hearts.

If you are interested in learning more about Faith Formation at our parish, contact Nate Gulya at ngulya@sjnlancaster.org, or call the parish office.

GRIEF SHARE Returns to SJN March 3rd, 2026

Losing a loved one changes everything. The emptiness, the loneliness, the sense that life has been turned upside down can feel overwhelming. If you’ve experienced this kind of loss, we want you to know: You’re not alone, and there is help available.

We invite you to join our GriefShare group beginning on Tuesday, March 3. Session is from 10-11:30 am.  If evening hours work better for you, please call Tonianne if enough interested individuals would prefer an evening session, one can be added.

Grief Share is a 13-week program. It is built around a 3-part design.  Each session will show a short 20-30-minute video. There would then be a small group discussion with an opportunity to talk about information shared in the video and/or any challenges you may be experiencing.  There is no expectation that you need or must share in the group discussion. You may choose to just listen if that is what feels right for you at that time. Each participant will be requested to donate $10 towards the purchase of the workbook. SJN will cover the additional $10 for each book. You may take notes in the workbook during the video or reflect on some of the short exercises and journal prompting with scripture passages in between the sessions. Registration is required to plan for supplies. Call Tonianne at 717 569-8531x 229.
