A Message from Rachel A. Bryson, Secretary (Executive Director) of Public Relations, Diocese of Harrisburg: Please ask your PA State Representative and Senator to oppose House Bill 2632, a measure put forth by Democrats in the State House, which would have a devastating effect on Catholic Education across Pennsylvania.
HB 2632 seeks to end the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program and attempts to recreate it in a way that harms students by establishing a series of bureaucratic administrative procedures while cutting $102 million in funding. Needy students would see their education interrupted with the closing of several Catholic schools. Only the wealthy would have opportunities to select the best educational choice for their child. Pennsylvanian families in every county have been leveraging scholarships averaging under $3,000 per student with private money to receive an education in an environment that is best suited to the needs of their children. Please remember these children as you consider HB 2632. Thank you in advance for opposing HB 2632 that seeks to rob our children of their ability to succeed in an educational environment that is best for them.

Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be offered prior to the March at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick starting on Sunday, September 20, at 1:30 p.m., lasting overnight and ending at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21. I already have a Hallow account. How do I access SJN's parish page?
Everyone is invited to be a part of our parish community page. There, you can create a profile, add friends, share/respond to prayer intentions, and take part in prayer challenges with the parish. The steps are simple:
To join the parish page: Tap “Church” on the menu at the bottom of your screen > Select “Join a Church” > Search for our parish by typing "17601." Hallow has corrected our parish name from "Saint" to "St." when searching by name. However, it is best to search by zip code (17601).

Go to hallow.com/parish.
Type in “17601” and click on St. John Neumann Parish.
Click “Join.”
Create an account using phone or email.
Create a password.

Help Shape the Faith of Our Third Graders!

Do you enjoy working with children? Are you looking for a meaningful way to share your faith and make a lasting difference in the life of our parish?
St. John Neumann is seeking a Third Grade Catechist for our Family Faith Formation program. Our catechists are much more than teachers; they are witnesses to the faith who help children discover God's love through engaging lessons, activities, prayer, and discussion. Lessons are fully planned and supported by the Faith Formation Office, so you are never expected to do it alone. We provide the curriculum, materials, guidance, and ongoing support every step of the way.
Serving as a catechist is a wonderful opportunity to:
Deepen your own understanding of the Catholic faith.
Build meaningful relationships with parish families.
Inspire children as they grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Share your gifts while serving our parish community.
Parents are especially encouraged to consider this ministry! Teaching your child's class allows you to experience their faith journey alongside them while helping build a strong community among the families in your group. If God may be calling you to this rewarding ministry, we'd love to talk with you. Please contact Nate Gulya at the Faith Formation Office for more information. We would be happy to answer your questions and help you discern whether this is the right opportunity for you.

Pope Leo’s Prayer Intent:
This month, the Pope’s prayer intention is for respect for human life. People who live with a mental illness can lead lives of faith and courage. But all too often the lives of people who are struggling with a serious mental illness are not valued and shown respect. The value of a person’s life is not diminished because they live with a serious mental illness. Christ always loves people who are frail and vulnerable and gives them hope. Pope Leo XIV said to a woman who lived with serious depression and survived a suicide attempt, “through contact with Jesus, even those who feel lost regain confidence in life … they can rise to live again.” The Holy Father reminds us that “Life is a gift…even in the midst of pain and suffering. Let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, recognizing it as a gift from God.
