Hallow

A Message from Alex at Hallow
January 5, 2026
Our Daniel Fast starts today! Kick off the new year with this transformative 21-day fast inspired by the prophet Daniel and rooted in prayer and a simple diet: only fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and no meat nor alcohol. There truly is no better way to start 2026 than this. The Daniel Fast will help you detach from all the things pulling you away from God, push back against sin, listen to God’s voice more clearly, and keep focus on His will.
Trust me, you don’t want to miss this! Join us in praying and fasting today with Chris Pratt and Jeff Cavins!
Over the next three weeks, you’ll get to:
● Journey through the Book of Daniel and the prophet’s fast with Chris Pratt and Jeff Cavins.
● Reflect on how St. Basil the Great, St. Peter Chrysologus, and St. Francis DeSales practiced fasting with actress Patricia Heaton.
● Pray Lectio Divina with Heather Khym to really listen to what God is trying to tell you throughout your fast.
● Hear the incredible conversion story of Sr. Rita Clare Yoches and her reflections on following God’s will: “I didn’t realize it then, but God was inviting me to a transformation that took me from building my own kingdom to letting Him build His within me.”
● Dive deep into Sunday Mass readings with Fr. Malachy Napier of the CFRs.

Parish Health Ministry (PHM)
This month, the Pope’s prayer intention is for prayer with the Word of God.
For those of us who live with mental health challenges, the Word of God assures us that God understands our struggles and always wants to offer us spiritual support.
In the Gospels, Jesus says, “Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” and “My peace I give to you.” Jesus knows we struggle with our mental health, and he reassures us that through prayer, we can rest in him to find peace. We join with Pope Leo XIV in praying that the Word of God will be a source of hope as we face our mental health challenges.
