Adult Faith Formation

St. John Neumann parish offers many opportunities for adults to grow in their relationship with the Lord and understanding of His call. The formal, ongoing Adult Faith Formation program has the following annual components:

Fall Bible Study – September to November, Winter Bible Study – January to February, Parish Renewal – three-day parish wide retreat with guest homilist, Easter Season Faith Forums: “I wonder, I believe…” – evening programs on various aspects of the Catholic faith during the four Sundays following Easter.

We also periodically offer special events and presentations by well known authors and speakers. Watch the website and the bulletin for dates, times, and topics.

For those interested in participating or helping with the promotion, hospitality, or facilitation of Adult Faith Formation, contact Coleen (Kibler) Hamilton, Director of Religious Education, at or by phone at 569-8531 ext. 212.

What is it about the Mass that makes it so different from other worship services and prayer gatherings?  The Church talks about the Real Presence but did Jesus not promise to be with his followers where two or more are gathered in his name?

In this short, three- session study we will wade into the Mystery of Jesus’ gift of his very self as food for our souls and transformation for our lives.  In the Gospels, Jesus tells his Apostles clearly  “Do this.”   Is it any wonder then that the Church calls this sacrament – the visible sign of an amazing invisible reality – the “source and summit” of the Christian life . Come, let us adore indeed!

PRESENCE has three sections to choose from. You can “flex” across sections during the three weeks but select the one where you’ll start in the online registration form.

St. John Neumann and St. James Present

A Lenten Day of Reflection

The Widow’s Might

Making Jesus’ Priorities Our Own

Our culture tries to convince us that true happiness is to be found in possessing things: the right car, the right house, the right bank account, the right smartphone, the right clothes, the right friends, the right career, the right achievements.

Lent invites us to focus instead on the “blessedness” that comes from keeping spiritual things first, embodying the widow’s mighty act of faith and trust in the Lord.
