The Tabernacle. I have been asked where we are on the relocation of the Tabernacle to the center of the sanctuary. This relocation will occur in conjunction with renovations that will be made to the sanctuary and the church in the future. As we put our Master Plan together we will be able to provide more information.
The Master Plan Committee will be meeting on September 6th to begin putting together a plan that can be presented to the parish and then to the Diocese. This committee is made up of people who asked to be on the committee and people who were asked to be on because of particular expertise they may possess. As we move forward if you are interested in being involved in some way please do not hesitate to let me know. Once again, I would like to thank all who have contributed their time, talent and treasure in the past and greatly appreciate your continued support.
The Resurrected Christ has been cleaned. When we surveyed the parish about placing a corpus on the cross in the sanctuary and relocating the Resurrected Christ two options were given for this relocation. The back wall as you leave the Church or the current Eucharistic Chapel. The back wall was preferred. Unfortunately, after further evaluation it was found that the back wall would require a good deal of extra supports in order to handle the weight of the Statue. In addition, without a cross behind the statue it loses it’s symbolism as the Resurrected Christ. There is no room for a cross on the back wall and a cross would require even more extra support. Therefore it was decided that the best location would be in the current Chapel where a cross can be placed behind the Resurrected Christ. This will occur in the next few weeks. Thank you for your understanding.
